The movie “Cinderella Man” takes
place during the Great Depression. Sacrifice is giving up everything for the
people you love. It tells the true story of James Braddock who in 1935 beat the
unbeatable Max Baer for the Heavyweight Championship of the world. When the
stock market went broke, James and his family’s life drastically changed. They
had to give up buying clothes and toys in order to have money. One morning he
sacrificed not eating and gave up his portion of breakfast to his young
daughter. His injured hand prevented him from fighting again. Joe Gould,
Braddock’s manager, comes to him with one fight deal with Max Bauer. He turns that fight into a win, one great
comeback of the story. James greatest victory was sacrificing for his family.
