drug addiction

Most people start using drugs on a recreational basis; however the more they choose to use, the more they become addicted. I have a cousin who blew his life to drugs. Have you ever known someone with an addiction? His addiction on drugs has gotten him into trouble. First, dealers have threatened to kill him. They have left him on the streets and alleys all bruised up if he didn’t pay up. He once stole his moms gold jewelry. He went to pawn the jewelry to get money for more drugs and to pay the dealer.  Second, he began to hang out with a bad group of friends. When he was about 15 years old, he went to drink with his friends. In the night, his friends were drunk, so they decided to beat up a correctional officer and throw him in the trunk of the car. When the cops stopped them, for driving through a red light, the officer asked them to open the trunk, but they refused. So, the cops called in for backup because my cousin and his friends looked suspicious. When the cops saw the correctional officer in the trunk, they immediately arrested them. My cousin’s friends blamed it all on him, and he ended up spending nine years in prison. He would have gotten out earlier, but he got in a fight with a prisoner trying to defend his friend. Last, he got stabbed in the chest. About a couple of months ago we received a call from my aunt telling us that my cousin had been stabbed. A lady found him lying in front of some apartments bleeding to death. They flew him to the hospital in San Diego. He got stabbed on his left side of chest, which led him to receive sixteen stiches. In conclusion, he is in Las Vegas in a rehab center. He came down to the valley to get his social security and birth certificate because he is getting a job. But I have a feeling he’s still doing drugs. My sister tells him she’s going to follow in his footsteps, so he can open his eyes to see that he’s doing wrong in what he’s doing.
